Classic variety. 'Sioux' is one of Latour-Marliac's most celebrated hybrids. The flowers change in tone over time, moving from light yellow to ruddy copper. It is easy grow and relatively vigorous.

Monsieur Latour-Marliac, like many Europeans in the 19th century, was fascinated by the opening up of the American West and the American Indians. The Sioux are a well-known Indian tribe, the most famous member of which is Sitting Bull, who defeated Custer at the Battle of Little Bighorn in 1876. Latour-Marliac also created N. 'Comanche' and N. 'Indiana'.

Plant one per 20 litre Latour-Marliac planting container at a depth of 40 to 100 cm in order to have approximately one square metre of surface coverage after a year or two.
