This species grows wild in Eastern Europe and is the best white water lily for small ponds and container gardens. In feudal times it figured prominently in that region's various coats of arms, demonstrating the symbolic weight that the water lily carried there.
Plant one per 14L container at a depth of 20 to 40 cm to cover one square metre of surface.
