Sakata is a very free-flowering yellow whose blooms are among the richest in colour, in the order of 'Joey Tomocik' (Strawn) and 'Yellow Enigma' (Latour-Marliac). Flowers start out pale and crinkly in spring and then mature into the summer to yield crisp deep yellow blooms with a slight pink flush to the sepals.

Plant one per 20 litre Latour-Marliac planting container at a depth of 40 to 100 cm in order to have approximately one square metre of surface coverage after a year or two.
